Las Vegas, Nev. – Four members of a local street gang known as the Playboy Bloods, entered guilty pleas in federal court today to racketeering and drug conspiracy charges, announced Daniel G. Bogden, United States Attorney for the District of Nevada.

Delvin Ward, aka "D-Luv," 33, and Demichael Burks, aka "Mikey P," 25, pleaded guilty to one count of Conspiracy to Engage in a Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organization. Sebastian Wigg, aka "Rock," 33, and Fred James Nix, aka "June P," 33, pleaded guilty to one count of Drug Conspiracy. All four defendants admitted that they are members of the Playboy Bloods, a criminal gang that operates primarily in the Sherman Gardens Annex housing complex at H and Doolittle Streets in Las Vegas. The defendants admitted that members of the gang are involved in criminal racketeering acts including murder, attempted murder, robbery and drug trafficking, and that the main financial activity of the gang is the trafficking of narcotics. They further admitted that gang members distribute drugs from apartments and hotels in their neighborhood which are rented in the names of others in exchange for drugs.

Ward admitted that he operated drug houses at the following locations in Las Vegas: 1704 Curran, 1003 Silverman, 10145 Silverman, 1016 Silverman, the Veterans of Foreign War Post at 1905 H Street, and the Budget Suites at 4855 Boulder Highway, and that he distributed at least 140 grams of crack cocaine. The plea agreement states that the parties stipulated that a sentence of nine years in prison is an appropriate sentence for Ward, providing that four additional defendants, Burks, Nix, Wigg, and Terrence Thomas, plead guilty. If the other four defendants do not plead guilty, the plea agreement states that a sentence of 10 years in prison is appropriate.

Burks admitted that he operated drug houses at 1704 Curran and 1003 Silverman, and that he distributed at least 83.2 grams of crack cocaine. The plea agreement states that the parties stipulated that a sentence of 5 ½ years in prison is an appropriate sentence for Burks, providing that the other four defendants plead guilty.

Wigg admitted that he operated drug houses within Playboy Bloods turf, including at 3834 Terrazzo, and that he distributed at least 37 grams of crack cocaine. The plea agreement states that the parties stipulated that a sentence of five years in prison is an appropriate sentence for Wigg, providing that the other four defendants plead guilty.

Nix admitted that he operated drug houses at 919 Silverman, 1003 Silverman, and the Budget Suites at 4855 Boulder Highway, and that he distributed at least 30.2 grams of crack cocaine. The plea agreement states that the parties stipulated that a sentence of five years in prison is an appropriate sentence for Nix, providing that the other four defendants plead guilty.

Ten members of the Playboy Bloods were indicted in October 2008 on charges of committing acts of violence and drug trafficking as part of their membership in the gang. The other six defendants are currently scheduled to go to trial on March 9, 2010. Those charges include allegations that co-defendants Markette Tillman and Steven Booth murdered Sherman Gardens security guard Brian Wilcox on January 20, 2004, as he rode his bicycle away from a disturbance, and that defendants Jacorey Taylor, Reginald Dunlap, and Steven Booth murdered Billy Thomas on November 1, 2004, in the parking lot of the Pecos Terrace Apartments at 3555 E. Lake Mead Boulevard in Las Vegas.

Ward, Burks, Wigg, and Nix are scheduled to be sentenced on March 15, 2010, before U.S. District Judge Robert C. Jones.

The cases are being investigated by the FBI, North Las Vegas Police Department, and Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, and prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Kathleen Bliss and Nicholas D. Dickinson.
