Doctor Sentenced to Probation for Not Paying Employment Withholding Taxes
Las Vegas, Nev. – Peter J. Licata, a Las Vegas osteopath, was sentenced to two years of federal probation today and ordered to pay $105,712 in restitution to the IRS for his guilty plea to failure to pay income withholding taxes, announced Daniel G. Bogden, United States Attorney for the District of Nevada.
According to the court records, Dr. Licata is an owner, sole officer and resident agent of OMAN (Osteopathic Medical Associates of Nevada) Incorporated, located at 5410 W. Sahara in Las Vegas. OMAN owns both the medical practice and real estate where it is located. Dr. Licata collected employment taxes during 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005, but failed to pay over the taxes to the IRS.
Dr. Licata was also ordered to comply with all outstanding IRS obligations. He was sentenced by Chief U.S. District Judge Philip M. Pro.
The case was investigated by IRS Criminal Investigation and prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Brian Quarles, Kurt Schulke, and Tom Dougherty.
