Las Vegas, Nev. - A Las Vegas tax return preparer has pleaded guilty to preparing false income tax returns for at least seven different individuals causing a loss to the IRS in the amount of $123,996, announced Daniel G. Bogden, United States Attorney for the District of Nevada.

ROBIN CONRADO, age 56, entered her guilty plea on Tuesday, December 20, 2005, before U.S. District Judge Edward C. Reed, Jr. to a one-count Criminal Information charging her with Aiding and Assisting Fraudulent and False Statements in Internal Revenue Service Tax Returns, a felony.

According to the Plea Memorandum, during the tax years 1999, 2000, 2001, and 2002, CONRADO operated an income tax return preparation service in Las Vegas under the name, "Rob's Tax Service." During that time period, CONRADO willfully prepared approximately 20 income tax returns for seven individuals containing false and fraudulent representations. The tax loss to the IRS was approximately $123,996. Approximately $75,000 was repaid to the IRS by one tax return filer, resulting in an actual loss to the IRS of $48,901.

CONRADO faces up to three years in prison and a $250,000 fine, and is scheduled to be sentenced by Judge Reed on May 3, 2006, at 10:00 a.m.
