Reno, Nev. - Daniel G. Bogden, United States Attorney for the District of Nevada, and Kasey Warner, United States Attorney for the Southern District of West Virginia, announced that Louis Nomar, also known as "Dr. Louis Nomar, M.D., Ph.D." or "Dr. Louis", of Charleston, West Virginia, has been convicted and sentenced in the Southern District of West Virginia for conspiracy to commit wire fraud. Nomar was involved in a national fraud scheme involving a now defunct Internet website, www.onlinephysicianservices.com, which purported to offer for a fee, "telephone doctor consultations" with a "licensed, board-certified physician" and FDA-approved prescription medications. Louis Nomar is not a medical doctor, nor does he have a Ph.D. Nomar was sentenced on August 19, 2002, by Chief United States District Court Judge Charles H. Haden II to 77 months in federal prison.
