Fifteen Persons From Davie And Rowan Counties Indicted For Drug Offenses In Federal Court In Greensboro

Greensboro, NC – A group of fifteen persons from the Davie and Rowan County areas were indicted by a federal grand jury in Greensboro on April 30, 2007.

Anna Mills Wagoner, United States Attorney for the Middle District of North Carolina, announced the indictment of the following persons for conspiracy to distribute cocaine and/or distribution of cocaine base (“crack”) and cocaine hydrochloride in 19 separate counts.

The Indictment results from a lengthy investigation involving the joint efforts of several law enforcement agencies, including the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Sheriff Andy C. Stokes and the Davie County Sheriff’s Department, Sheriff George Wilhelm and the Rowan County Sheriff’s Department, the Mocksville Police Department, the Salisbury Police Department and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation. United States Attorney Anna Mills Wagoner stated that this investigation and indictment demonstrates the positive outcome of cooperation among federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies.

On Count One of the Indictment, which charges conspiracy to distribute 50 grams or more of cocaine base (“crack”) and a detectable amount of cocaine hydrochloride, each of the defendants face a sentence of a minimum mandatory term of 10 years imprisonment up to life imprisonment, up to a $4,000,000 fine, and at least five years of supervised release to follow any term of imprisonment imposed. The remaining counts of the Indictment carry various penalties depending on the drug quantity involved. The actual sentence in this case, upon conviction, will be determined by the Court under the mandatory Federal Sentencing Guidelines which depend upon a number of factors unique to each case, including the defendant's prior criminal record, if any, the defendant's role in the offense and the unique characteristics of the violation. In all cases the sentence will not exceed the statutory maximum and in most cases it will be less than the maximum. Each of the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

Neely, Link ,Jackson, L. Dulin and G. Dulin are in Federal custody and will appear in Federal Court in Greensboro, NC on Monday, May 14 for arraignment and detention hearings Polk, Scott, Albea, and Harvell also in custody, and set for initial appearances on Tuesday, May 8 in Greensboro. Morrison is scheduled to appear in Federal Court in Greensboro on May 9 for detention and arraignment hearings. Arrest warrants are outstanding for Agosto, Holland, Ijames, Dalton and Mayfield.
