Eva Marie Red Head Green Pleads Guilty in U.S. Federal Court

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Thursday, April 09, 2009

Bill Mercer, United States Attorney for the District of Montana, announced today that during a federal court session in Great Falls on April 8, 2009, before U.S. District Judge Sam E. Haddon, EVA MARIE RED HEAD GREEN, a 62-year-old resident of Browning, pled guilty to distribution of methadone in a public housing facility. Sentencing is set for July 23, 2009. She is currently detained.

In an Offer of Proof filed by the United States, the government stated it would have proved at trial the following:

On both November 1, 2006, and March 23, 2007, a confidential informant of the Blackfeet Safe Trails Task Force (BSTTF) purchased methadone pills from RED HEAD GREEN. The sales took place within 1,000 feet of a Housing and Urban Development community in Browning. An analysis of the pills confirmed they were methadone.

RED HEAD GREEN faces possible penalties of a mandatory minimum of 1 year in prison and could be sentenced to 40 years, a $1,000,000 fine and 6 years supervised release.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Vince Carroll prosecuted the case for the United States.

The investigation was conducted by the Blackfeet Safe Trails Task Force.
