KANSAS CITY, Mo. - David M. Ketchmark, Acting United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri, announced that an Independence, Mo., woman pleaded guilty in federal court today to aiding and abetting the armed robbery of First Federal Bank in Grandview, Mo.

Kiaira D. Minor, 21, of Independence, pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Howard F. Sachs to the charge contained in a Feb. 15, 2011, federal indictment.

By pleading guilty today, Minor admitted that she drove the get-away car on Jan. 19, 2011, when co-defendant Richard A. Davis, 21, of Kansas City, used a Colt .357 magnum revolver to rob First Federal Bank, 5901 Maine, Grandview. Davis entered the bank and, while holding the firearm in his hand, jumped over the counter and demanded an employee fill up a bag with cash. Davis then fled with $3,374 from the cash drawer.

Davis pleaded guilty to using a firearm during a crime of violence and was sentenced on Dec. 22, 2011, to seven years in federal prison without parole.

This case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Paul S. Becker. It was investigated by the FBI and the Grandview, Mo., Police Department.
