SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – David M. Ketchmark, Acting United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri, announced today that a St. Robert, Mo., man has been sentenced in federal court for receiving child pornography over the Internet.

Robert Biggins, 28, of St. Robert, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Richard E. Dorr on Monday, July 30, 2012, to 15 years and eight months in federal prison without parole.

Biggins pleaded guilty on March 6, 2012. According to court documents, another person living at Biggins’ residence discovered child pornography on a computer hard drive that Biggins had given to him, and called the police. Officers executed a search warrant in May 2011 and seized two laptop computers, external hard drives and other related storage media. Investigators found 231 images of child pornography and 274 videos containing child pornography.

 This case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney James J. Kelleher. It was investigated by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Office of Homeland Security Investigations and the St. Robert, Mo., Police Department.
