three macon residents indicted for bank robbery

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
September 29, 2011

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Beth Phillips, United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri, announced that three Macon, Mo., residents were indicted by a federal grand jury today for robbing Merchants and Farmers Bank in Columbia, Mo.

Jeffrey Brent Heckman, 25, Jacob Thomas Norris, 24, and Alexia Quentasha Baker, 23, all of Macon, were charged in an indictment returned by a federal grand jury in Jefferson City.

Today’s indictment alleges that Heckman, Norris and Baker stole $1,627 from Merchants and Farmers Bank, 4000 N. Rangeline, Columbia, on July 8, 2011.

Phillips cautioned that the charge contained in this indictment is simply an accusation, and not evidence of guilt. Evidence supporting the charge must be presented to a federal trial jury, whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.

This case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Anthony P. Gonzalez. It was investigated by the FBI, the Columbia, Mo., Police Department and the Kansas City, Mo., Police Department.
