golden man indicted for producing child porn, possessing counterfeit $100 bills
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Beth Phillips, United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri, announced that a Golden, Mo., man was indicted by a federal grand jury today on charges related to producing child pornography as well as possessing counterfeit $100 bills.
Timothy C. Stringer, 33, of Golden, was charged in a five-count indictment returned by a federal grand jury in Springfield, Mo.
Today’s indictment alleges that Stringer used a minor to produce child pornography, utilizing two cell phones and a digital camera, between March 21 and June 14, 2010. The indictment also alleges that Stringer used two minors to produce child pornography on June 14, 2010.
Stringer is also charged with one count of possessing child pornography, one count of transferring obscene matter to a minor under the age of 16, and one count of possessing nine counterfeit $100 bills.
The federal indictment also contains forfeiture allegations, which would require Stringer to forfeit to the government any property used to commit the alleged offenses, including two cell phones, a digital camera, a laptop computer and four computer hard drives.
Phillips cautioned that the charges contained in this indictment are simply accusations, and not evidence of guilt. Evidence supporting the charges must be presented to a federal trial jury, whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
This case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Randall D. Eggert. It was investigated by the U.S. Secret Service Administration, the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Cassville, Mo., Police Department.
