STOVER MAN SENTENCED FOR

CHILD PORNOGRAPHY


            JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Matt J. Whitworth, Acting United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri, announced that a Stover, Mo., man was sentenced in federal court today for possessing and receiving child pornography through the mail.


            Anthony Glenn Woskow, 45, of Stover, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Nanette K. Laughrey this morning to seven years and three months in federal prison without parole. The court also ordered Woskow to serve 10 years of supervised release following his prison term.


            On Jan. 25, 2008, Woskow pleaded guilty to receiving child pornography through the mail on Feb. 13, 2007, and to attempting to receive child pornography through the mail on Feb. 5, 2007. Woskow also pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography on Feb. 13, 2007.


            This case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Lawrence E. Miller. It was investigated by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development – Office of Inspector General, the U.S. Department of Agriculture – Office of Inspector General and the Morgan County, Mo., Sheriff’s Department.
