KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Matt J. Whitworth, Acting United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri, announced that a Liberty, Mo., man pleaded guilty in federal court today to robbing Platte Valley Bank in Dearborn, Mo.

David W. Busick, 26, of Liberty, pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Gary A. Fenner this afternoon to the charge contained in a Feb. 25, 2009, federal indictment.

Busick admitted that he stole $9,676 from Platte Valley Bank on Jan. 22, 2008. Busick was driven to the bank by unnamed accomplices. Later, they split the money.

Under federal statutes, Busick is subject to a sentence of up to 20 years in federal prison without parole, plus a fine up to $250,000 and an order of restitution. A sentencing hearing will be scheduled after the completion of a presentence investigation by the United States Probation Office.
