Salisbury Drug Dealer Exiled to Over 12 Years in Prison

Baltimore, Maryland - U.S. District Judge Ellen L. Hollander sentenced Tereek Nutter, age 29, of Salisbury, Maryland, today to 151 months in prison followed by five years of supervised release for conspiring to distribute more than five kilograms of cocaine and a quantity of cocaine base.

The sentence was announced by United States Attorney for the District of Maryland Rod J. Rosenstein; Special Agent in Charge Ava Cooper-Davis of the Drug Enforcement Administration - Washington Field Division; Colonel Marcus L. Brown, Superintendent of the Maryland State Police; Acting Special Agent in Charge Ashan Benedict of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives - Baltimore Field Division; and Wicomico County State’s Attorney Matthew Maciarello.

According to his plea agreement, Nutter conspired with others to distribute cocaine and cocaine base. From May to June 2011, law enforcement overheard phone conversations in which Nutter arranged for several purchases of up to a kilogram of cocaine at a time from a conspirator. Nutter agreed to pay up to $35,000 for each kilogram of cocaine.

On June 29, 2011, law enforcement executed a search warrant at Nutter’s home and seized $3,800; a loaded, stolen firearm; ammunition; 10.8 grams of cocaine base; and 1.8 grams of cocaine. Law enforcement arrested Nutter on September 9, 2011 at another residence in Salisbury and seized over 300 grams of cocaine, a scale, a loaded firearm and $3,000 from that residence.

Nutter admits that he and his conspirators distributed more than five kilograms of cocaine and a quantity of cocaine base.
