Massachusetts Pill Distributor Sentenced to 48 Months in Prison

Boston - A former Malden man was sentenced yesterday for distributing oxycodone.

Rosa Mom, 31, was sentenced by Chief U.S. District Judge Mark L. Wolf to 48 months in prison, to be followed by a 36 months of supervised release and a $200 special assessment.

In December, 2011, Mom pleaded guilty to participating in an oxycodone distribution conspiracy between June 2009 and September 2009 and to distributing 800 oxycodone pills on September 23, 2009. In total, Mom was held responsible for the distribution of more than 3,400 30-mg oxycodone pills.

United States Attorney Carmen M. Ortiz and Kevin L. Lane, Acting Special Agent in Charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration – New England Field Division, made the announcement.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Linda M. Ricci of Ortiz’s Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force.
