Boston... A West Yarmouth man was indicted today in federal court on child pornography charges.
Scott J. Harrison, 44, was indicted today on a one-count indictment charging him with possession of child pornography. If convicted, Harrison faces up to 20 years in prison, up to a lifetime of supervised release with a five year mandatory minimum period and a $250,000 fine.
United States Attorney Carmen M. Ortiz; Robert Bethel, Inspector in Charge, U.S. Postal Inspector Service; Colonel Marion McGovern, Superintendent of the Massachusetts State Police; and Chief Frank Frederickson of the Yarmouth Police Department made the announcement today. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Suzanne Sullivan of Ortiz’s Major Crimes Unit.
This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood. In 2006, the Department of Justice created Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative designed to protect children from exploitation and abuse.
