BOSTON, Mass. - An Everett man was sentenced today in federal court for sale of a stolen firearm.

JUSTIN PINI, 31, of Everett, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton to 10 years imprisonment, to be followed by 3 years of supervised release after pleading guilty to the sale of a stolen firearm on August 2, 2010.

At the earlier plea hearing, the prosecutor told the Court that had the case proceeded to trial the Government’s evidence would have proven that on February 11, 2009, PINI and a co-defendant, Ana Rizzo, sold a stolen Smith and Wesson .44 caliber revolver to an undercover Massachusetts State Police Trooper at a local bar in Everett. The Smith and Wesson revolver had been stolen earlier that day during a residential burglary

United States Attorney Carmen M. Ortiz, Guy Thomas, Special Agent in Charge of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives - Boston Field Division, Colonel Marian McGovern, Superintendent of the Massachusetts State Police and Chief Steven A. Mazzie of the Everett Police Department made the announcement today. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael Crowley, Deputy Chief of Ortiz’s Major Crimes Unit.
