BOSTON, Mass. - United States Attorney Carmen M. Ortiz announced today that 113 federal, state and local law enforcement officials and one individual from a non-profit agency were recognized for exceptional service at the 12th Annual Law Enforcement Public Service Awards Ceremony.

The ceremony held at the United States Courthouse in Boston honored those who performed exception public service and/or contributed to complex cases prosecuted. The honorees were nominated by Assistant U.S. Attorneys who worked on these cases.

“Our office has the privilege of working with professional men and women who take very seriously their role as public servants,” said U.S. Attorney Ortiz. “ Those in public service, particularly law enforcement, face incredible challenges which require a certain character, unshakable commitment, and a level of motivation possessed by few. I am truly grateful to not only those we honored today, but to all in law enforcement and their families for their personal sacrifices in the interest of justice for victims and communities in the Commonwealth.”
