GABRIEL CUTRER, 32, a resident of Kentwood, was sentenced by U. S. District Judge Stanwood R. Duval, Jr. to 130 months imprisonment after pleading guilty to cocaine and gun charges, announced U. S. Attorney Jim Letten.

CUTRER was sentenced to seventy (70) months imprisonment for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute fifty grams or more of cocaine base (“crack”), one count of distribution of a quantity of crack, one count of possession with intent to distribute a quantity of crack, and being a felon in possession of a firearm. CUTRER was sentenced to additional sixty (60) months for possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime to run consecutive to the seventy month sentence.

According to court records, beginning at a time unknown and continuing until on or about September 2, 2009, CUTRER conspired to possess with intent to distribute and possess with intent to distribute fifty grams or more of cocaine base (“crack”). Additionally, on or about September 2, 2009, CUTRER distributed and possessed with the intent to distribute a quantity of cocaine base. CUTRER was also in possession of a firearm after having previously been convicted of a felony offense. On June 14, 2005, CUTRER was convicted in state court of possession of a controlled substance.

The investigation is being conducted by Special Agents of the Drug Enforcement Administration. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U. S. Attorney Andre’ Jones.
