DONNA MARIE DUHE, age 51, from LaPlace, Louisiana, pled guilty today before U. S. District Court Judge Kurt D. Engelhardt to unlawfully receiving social security disability funds, announced U. S. Attorney Jim Letten.

DUHE admitted today that she was awarded benefits in June 2007, and that at the time she began receiving benefits she had already obtained a job. As a result of her actions, DUHE received a total of $26,453.80 in benefits while she was working and that she knew she was not entitled to these benefits.

The maximum penalty DUHE faces is a statutory penalty of ten (10) years incarceration.

This case was investigated by the United States Social Security Administration, Office of Inspector General and was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Dorothy Manning Taylor.
