NEW ORLEANS MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO CRIMES INVOLVING THE SEXUAL EXPLOITATION OF CHILDREN

MICHAEL T. DRURY, age 55, a resident of New Orleans, pleaded guilty as charged today before United States District Judge Martin L.C. Feldman to the one-count bill of information charging him with crimes involving the sexual exploitation of children, announced United States Attorney Jim Letten.

According to court documents, DRURY was found to be in possession of computers that contained 61 images depicting the sexual victimization of minor children. The images depicted children less than 18 years of age, some of whom were less than 12 years of age, engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

DRURY faces up to ten (10) years in prison, followed by up to a life term of supervised release, and a $250,000 fine. He can also be required to register as a sex offender. Sentencing is scheduled for December 21, 2011.

This case is being investigated by special agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The prosecution of this case is being handled by Assistant United States Attorney Jordan Ginsberg.
