HAMMOND MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO COCAINE CONSPIRACY
JARMEZE YOUNG, 34, a resident of Hammond, pled guilty before U. S. District Judge Kurt D. Engelhardt to cocaine conspiracy and distribution, announced U. S. Attorney Jim Letten.
YOUNG pled guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine hydrochloride and one count each of distribution of twenty-eight grams or more of cocaine base (“crack”) and possession with intent to distribute a quantity of cocaine hydrochloride.
The conspiracy count and the cocaine base distribution count each carry a maximum term of forty (40) years imprisonment. The possession with intent to distribute count carries a maximum penalty of twenty years (20) imprisonment. Sentencing is scheduled for October 19, 2011.
The investigation was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U. S. Attorney Andre’ Jones.
