FOURTH DEFENDANT PLEADS GUILTY TO CONSPIRACY TO COMMIT ARMED BANK ROBBERY

ERROL HARRIS, age 27, of New Orleans, Louisiana, pled guilty today before the Honorable Carl J. Barbier to conspiracy to commit an armed bank robbery and using a firearm in relation to a crime of violence, announced U. S. Attorney Jim Letten.

According to the factual basis, HARRIS admitted today that on May 4, 2010, he conspired with others to commit armed robbery of the Capital One Bank located on Highway 18 in Edgard, Louisiana. HARRIS further admitted that he and co-defendant, Corey Richardson, entered the bank armed and robbed the federally insured bank of approximately $21,649.00 U.S. currency.

Co-defendants, Richardson, Doriyah Jordan, and Vincent Beverly, pled guilty on January 13, 2011 and are awaiting sentencing.

HARRIS faces a possible maximum sentence of life imprisonment, $500,000 in fines, and three (3) years supervised release.

The case was investigated jointly by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office and St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office. The prosecution was handled by Assistant United States Elizabeth Privitera.
