ALLEN A. GUILBEAU, JR., age 40, a resident of Marrero, LA, pled guilty in federal court today before U.S. District Judge Helen G. Berrigan to one count of making false statements on an application for passport, announced U. S. Attorney Jim Letten.

According to court documents, GUILBEAU applied for a U. S. Passport using his brother’s identity, including his name, birth date, and a fraudulent Louisiana Driver’s License.

Upon sentencing, scheduled for February 16, 2011, GUILBEAU faces a maximum term of imprisonment of 10 years, a $250,0000 fine, and 3 years of supervised release following imprisonment.

The case was investigated by the U. S. Department of State, Diplomatic Security Service. The prosecution is being handled by Assistant U. S. Attorney Julia K. Evans.
