MARRERO MAN SENTENCED FOR ASSAULT ON A FEDERAL OFFICER
CHRISTOPHER ISAAC, age 20, of Marrero, Louisiana, was sentenced today in federal court by U. S. District Judge Helen G. Berrigan to credit for time served for assaulting a federal officer, announced U. S Attorney Jim Letten. In addition to the term of imprisonment, Judge Berrigan imposed three (3) years of supervised release following the term of imprisonment during which time, the defendant will be under federal supervision and risks an additional term of imprisonment should he violate any terms of his supervised release.
According to court documents, on July 15, 2010, ISAAC pled guilty to using a dangerous weapon to forcibly assault a U. S. Postal Service Letter Carrier in order to obtain cash while the Letter Carrier was delivering mail at the Ridgefield Apartments in Marrero, Louisiana.
The case was investigated by the United States Postal Inspection Service and prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Loan “Mimi” Nguyen .
