KENTWOOD MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO FEDERAL DRUG AND GUN CHARGES
GABRIEL CUTRER, 31, a resident of Kentwood, pled guilty yesterday in federal court before U. S. District Judge Stanwood R. Duval, Jr. to federal drug and gun charges, announced U. S. Attorney Jim Letten.
According to the factual basis, CUTRER admitted that beginning prior to September 2, 2009, he was involved in a conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute fifty grams or more of crack cocaine. Additionally, CUTRER admitted he distributed and possessed with the intent to distribute a quantity of crack cocaine and was also in possession of a firearm after having previously been convicted of a felony offense. CUTRER also admitted that on June 14, 2005, he was convicted of possession of a controlled substance in Tangipahoa Parish.
Cutrer faces a possible maximum sentence of life imprisonment, millions in fines and up to five (5) years of supervised release. Sentencing has been scheduled for December 15, 2010.
The investigation is being conducted by Special Agents of the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U. S. Attorney Andre’ Jones.
