BANK ROBBER SENTENCED TO OVER 12 YEARS IN FEDERAL PRISON
DARRYL L. PALMORE, age 31, a resident of New Orleans, Louisiana, was sentenced today to over twelve years (151 months) imprisonment for bank robbery, announced U. S. Attorney Jim Letten.
According to court documents, on December 3, 2009, PALMORE pled guilty admitting that on October 3, 2009, he entered the Capital One Bank located in the 3500 block of St. Charles Avenue, walked up to the teller counter and handed a threatening note to the teller demanding that money be placed in a bank envelope within 30 seconds. While he was fleeing the scene, the dye pack activated causing the defendant to drop most of the stolen money as well as other items. As a result of the subsequent investigation, New Orleans Police Department Detectives identified PALMORE as a suspect in the robbery investigation and the defendant was arrested on October 7, 2009.
The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the New Orleans Police Department. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U. S. Attorney Christopher Cox of the Violent Crime Unit.
