DRIVER WITH EIGHT POUNDS OF COCAINE IN CAR SENTENCED TO SEVEN YEARS IN FEDERAL PRISON

WICHITA, KAN. – Felix Ismael Ledesma, 25, El Paso, Texas, has been sentenced to 84 months in federal prison, U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom said today.

Ledesma pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute cocaine. In his plea, he admitted a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper stopped him Jan. 9, 2010, in Pratt, Kan. A search of Ledesma’s 2000 Ford Mustang uncovered four kilograms (more than 8.8 pounds) of cocaine worth more than $50,000. The drugs were hidden in a false compartment in the rear of the car.

Grissom commended the Kansas Highway Patrol and Assistant U.S. Attorney Lanny Welch for their work on the case.
