TOPEKA DRUG CONSPIRATOR FROM OPERATION HARD TIMES GETS 17+ YEARS IN FEDERAL PRISON

TOPEKA, KAN. – Michael B. Jordan, 39, Topeka, Kan., has been sentenced to 210 months in federal prison for drug trafficking, U.S. Attorney Lanny Welch said today.

Jordan pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute more than five kilograms of cocaine. In his plea, he admitted investigators made numerous controlled purchases of cocaine from him during an investigation code named Operation Hard Times. At sentencing, prosecutors cited evidence that from December 2005 to December 2006 Jordan was a leader of a conspiracy involving at least half a dozen other individuals distributing cocaine in Topeka.

Welch commended the Topeka Police Department, the Drug Enforcement Administration and Assistant U.S. Attorney Greg Hough for their work on the case.
