Springfield, Ill. – Rodger A. Heaton, United States Attorney for the Central District of Illinois, announced that Robert S. McIntire, age 41, of 522 Jackson Street, Quincy, Illinois, was sentenced today to a term of 120 months (10 years) in the custody of the federal Bureau of Prisons. McIntire had pled guilty on September 18, 2006, to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and producing marijuana.

On May 3, 2005, law enforcement agents recovered $10,360 in U.S. currency and a hide-a-can containing 74 individually wrapped packages of methamphetamine, each stamped with the picture of a blue devil’s face, from McIntire’s home. The items were located in a wall safe in the basement. Officers also recovered 125 marijuana plants growing indoors in containers from McIntire’s residence.

McIntire has remained in the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service since he was arrested in Hawaii on the federal charges in early February 2006.

The case was investigated by the Quincy Police Department, Illinois State Police and the Drug Enforcement Administration. First Assistant U.S. Attorney John Childress prosecuted the case.
