Colorado Man Sentenced on Federal Offense of Failure to Pay Child Support
DAVENPORT, IA - On December 6, 2012, David Grant Hoyt, age 48, of Colorado and formerly of Bettendorf, Iowa, was sentenced to three years probation on the charge of willful failure to pay child support, announced United States Attorney Nicholas A. Klinefeldt. Chief United States District Court Judge James E. Gritzner also ordered Hoyt to pay $35,094 in restitution (representing past due child support) and pay $100 towards the Crime Victims Fund.
Hoyt previously entered a plea of guilty to willful failure to pay child support during the period of 1996 to 2012.
This investigation was conducted by the United States Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Inspector General, and the Iowa Department of Human Services, and the case was prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s Office, Southern District of Iowa.
