TWO MORE ARRESTS IN NW FLORIDA METH CONSPIRACY
PENSACOLA, FLORIDA - A federal indictment was unsealed today charging two additional individuals with conspiring to obtain pseudoephedrine for the purpose of manufacturing methamphetamine, announced United States Attorney Pamela C. Marsh, Northern District of Florida.
The federal indictment charges that Dallas Foley, 29, of Pace, and Jeffrey Rimpf, 44, formerly of Pensacola, were involved in a conspiracy to possess and distribute pseudoephedrine for use in manufacturing methamphetamine. This brings the total to over thirty individuals who have been indicted in federal court over the last fourteen months pursuant to a joint investigation into the clandestine manufacturing of methamphetamine in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties.
Foley made his initial appearance in Pensacola before United States Magistrate Judge Elizabeth M. Timothy this morning. Rimpf is awaiting transfer by the United States Marshals Service from the Alabama Department of Corrections. A trial date has been set for September 6, 2011, before Senior United States District Judge Lacey A. Collier. Each defendant faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted. However, an indictment is merely a formal charge by the federal grand jury. Every defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
This case results from a long-term investigation by the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office and the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney David L. Goldberg.
