David B. Fein, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, announced that JASON ROBINSON, also known as “Minx,” 43, of Groton, was sentenced today by United States District Judge Robert N. Chatigny in Hartford to 60 months of imprisonment, followed by four years of supervised release.  ROBINSON was found guilty after a jury trial last May of one count of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute five grams or more of cocaine base (“crack cocaine”) and two counts of distribution of cocaine base.

According to evidence presented during the trial, which included recorded phone calls and covert video and audio recordings, during the summer of 2009, ROBINSON twice sold approximately 14 grams of crack cocaine to an individual working with law enforcement in exchange for $600.

This matter stems from a joint law enforcement investigation headed by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (“ATF”), in conjunction with the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Connecticut State Police, Norwich Police Department, Groton Town Police Department, New London Police Department, Waterford Police Department, and the State of Connecticut’s Department of Correction and Office of Adult Probation.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Sarah P. Karwan.
