THE “JV BANDIT” SENTENCED TO FEDERAL PRISON FOR BANK ROBBERIES

DENVER – Trent Hix, also known as the “JV Bandit,” was sentenced Monday by U.S. District Court Judge Marcia S. Krieger to serve 57 months in federal prison for bank robbery, U.S. Attorney John Walsh and Denver FBI Special Agent in Charge James Yacone announced.  Following his prison sentence, Hix was ordered to serve 3 years of supervised release.  He was also ordered to pay restitution totaling $21,139.90 to eight banks.  The defendant has been in custody since his arrest in January.

This case was investigated by the Rocky Mountain Safe Streets Task Force, with substantial support from the Wheat Ridge Police Department.  Hix was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Bob Mydans.
