U.S. ATTORNEY JOHN WALSH ANNOUNCES SENIOR LEADERSHIP TEAM
DENVER – Colorado U.S. Attorney John Walsh today announced his senior leadership team. Denver attorney Bob Troyer, currently a partner at Hogan Lovell’s Denver office, has been selected by U.S. Attorney Walsh to serve as First Assistant U.S. Attorney. David Gaouette, who served as U.S. Attorney prior to Walsh’s confirmation, will serve as Executive Assistant U.S. Attorney. All three senior leaders, Walsh, Troyer and Gaouette, have extensive experience in the federal criminal justice process. Walsh and Troyer also have in-depth knowledge of civil law.
Walsh also announced today that he is appointing Assistant U.S. Attorney Kevin Traskos to serve as Chief of the Colorado U.S. Attorney’s Office Civil Division. Prior to his appointment, Traskos served as Deputy Chief of the Civil Division.
“First, I would like to recognize the outstanding work of David Gaouette, who steered the office with a steady, able hand in the 19 months between Troy Eid’s resignation in January 2009 and my arrival in August 2010,” said U.S. Attorney Walsh. “Dave deserves our particular thanks and appreciation for his leadership and hard work, which kept the office moving forward to serve the public with great success during this time. His knowledge, skill and experience will be invaluable in the Executive Assistant U.S. Attorney position.
“Second, I am pleased to announce that Bob Troyer has accepted my offer to come back to the U.S. Attorney’s Office and serve as First Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of Colorado,” Walsh said. “Bob has extensive experience not only as a federal prosecutor, but also as a lawyer in complex commercial, class action, and environmental matters, as well as white collar experience. As he has shown in his work as head of the litigation department at Hogan Lovell’s Denver office, Bob is a strong leader who will serve the public, the office, and the Justice Department well.
“Finally, I would like to recognize the excellent leadership of Kevin Traskos. In addition to Kevin’s service as Deputy Chief of the Civil Division, he has also provided invaluable assistance as a key member of the team that prosecuted former Qwest CEO Joseph Nacchio,” Walsh said. “Kevin has been recognized by leaders of various federal agencies in Denver as being the ‘go to’ guy on civil litigation involving the federal government. It is an honor to have him as our new Civil Division Chief.”
