Guilty Pleas In eBay Fraud Case

MOBILE, AL-- United States Attorney Kenyen R. Brown announced today that Alanna Elizabeth Turner and Sonia Janet Turner, residents of Atlanta, Georgia, entered guilty pleas on July 23, 2012, to an Information charging conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud in connection with an eBay fraud scheme.

The Turners admitted their participation in fraudulently purchasing electronics from Target and WalMart stores in the southeastern United States. The Turners admitted knowing the electronics would be sold on eBay by another individual. Both face a maximum possible penalty of up to 20 years.

The case arises from an investigation by the United States Secret Service and was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Deborah Griffin.
