The HIDTA counties are Mohave, La Paz, Yuma, Maricopa, Pinal, Pima, Santa Cruz, and Cochise.

Cities shown are Phoenix in Maricopa County and Tucson in Pima County.

Yuma, Pima, Santa Cruz, and Cochise counties are located along the border with Mexico.

Yuma, La Paz, and Mohave counties are located along the southeastern border with California. Mohave County also shares borders with Nevada and Utah.

Cochise County shares a border with New Mexico.

According to Census 2000 population data, Phoenix is a major city with a population of 1,000,000 or more. Las Vegas, NV; Mesa, and Tucson are major cities with populations of 250,000-999,999. Sunrise Manor, Paradise, and Henderson, NV; Glendale, Scottsdale, Tempe, and Chandler are cities with populations of 150,000-249,999 people.

Laughlin International, Phoenix International, Tucson International and Yuma International are the international airports.

The Ports of Entry are San Luis, Lukeville, Sasabe, Nogales, Naco, and Douglas.

The interstates within this region are  I-8, I-10, I-15, I-17, I-19 and I-40.

The U.S. highways shown are routes 60, 70, 93, 95, 160, 163, 180, and 191.

The State highways shown are routes 79, 80, 82, 85, 86, 89, 90, and 92.

The Mexican highways shown are routes 1, 2, 5, and 15.

Department of Defense in the Arizona HIDTA lands are located in Cochise, La Paz, Maricopa, Pima, and Yuma counties.

National Park Service in the Arizona HIDTA lands are located in Mohave and Pima counties.

USDA Forest Service in the Arizona HIDTA lands are located in Cochise, Maricopa, Mohave, Pima, Pinal, and Santa Cruz counties.

Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument is located in the National Park Service lands in Pima County, adjacent to the Tohono O'odham Reservation.

The Tohono O'odham Reservation is primarily located in Pima County, but also extends into Maricopa and Pinal counties.
