San Francisco, Oakland, and San Jose are major cities with populations greater than 250,000. Cities with populations between 100,000 and 249,999 are Berkeley, Concord, Daly City, Fremont, Hayward, Salinas, Santa Clara, Santa Rosa, Sunnyvale, and Vallejo. Cities with populations between 75,000 and 99,999 include Antioch, Redwood City, San Leandro, and San Mateo.

Nearby cities are Sacramento and Fresno with populations greater than 250,000; Stockton and Modesto with populations between 100,000 and 249,999; and Roseville, Citrus Heights, Arden, Vacaville, and Fairfield with populations between 75,000 and 99,999.

There are Interstate highways within this area are I-5, I-80, I-205, I-280, and I-505.

US-101 is a U.S. highway within this HIDTA.

The major airport in this HIDTA is San Francisco International Airport.

There are two major seaports within this HIDTA, San Francisco and Oakland
