In 1985, total drug arrests were 33,387, Cannabis Control Act arrests were 21,411, and Controlled Substances Act arrests were 11,652.

In 1986, total drug arrests were 32,104, Cannabis Control Act arrests were 18,017, and Controlled Substances Act arrests were 13,591.

In 1987, total drug arrests were 36,104, Cannabis Control Act arrests were 21,251, and Controlled Substances Act arrests were 14,330.

In 1988, total drug arrests were 45,727, Cannabis Control Act arrests were 19,535, and Controlled Substances Act arrests were 25,491.

In 1989, total drug arrests were 51,153 , Cannabis Control Act arrests were 17,261, and Controlled Substances Act arrests were 33,055.

In 1990, total drug arrests were 46,048, Cannabis Control Act arrests were 15,619, and Controlled Substances Act arrests were 29,818.

In 1991, total drug arrests were 48,329, Cannabis Control Act arrests were 12,967, and Controlled Substances Act arrests were 34,800.

In 1992, total drug arrests were 52,287, Cannabis Control Act arrests were 14,587, and Controlled Substances Act arrests were 37,147.

In 1993, total drug arrests were 64,616, Cannabis Control Act arrests were 19,988, and Controlled Substances Act arrests were 42,836.

In 1994, total drug arrests were 71,370, Cannabis Control Act arrests were 23,151, and Controlled Substances Act arrests were 46,220.

In 1995, total drug arrests were 86,186, Cannabis Control Act arrests were 28,605, and Controlled Substances Act arrests were 50,787.

In 1996, total drug arrests were 92,326, Cannabis Control Act arrests were 31,436, and Controlled Substances Act arrests were 51,125.

In 1997, total drug arrests were 98,289, Cannabis Control Act arrests were 33,728 , and Controlled Substances Act arrests were 52,472.

In 1998, total drug arrests were 92,977, Cannabis Control Act arrests were 35,675 , and Controlled Substances Act arrests were 43,465.

In 1999, total drug arrests were 106,609, Cannabis Control Act arrests were 38,892, and Controlled Substances Act arrests were 52,369.

In Cook county, 40.8% of  12th Grade students used marijuana compared to 42.2% of 12th Grade students in other counties.
